This activity is based on fractions, it's a differentiated form of non-formal assessment or it can be used in a center! Aligned with CCS and based upon Webb's Depth of Knowledge. This task is a differentiated, leveled math task. The first page is the general task for ALL students on grade level. The second task is for struggling students or those that may be below grade level or close to below. The third task is for students on grade level. The fourth task is for students above grade level. **

In this task students are asked to use specific colors to create a scene on a sheet of 100-grid paper. Then, they are to create a fraction for certain colors. Then, reduce each fraction into simplest terms. Then, convert the fraction to a decimal. Then, convert the decimal into a percent! The students will then answer a few questions based on their data. CCS: 4.NF- Understand decimal notation for fractions, and compare decimal fractions.
