These worksheets can be used as practice or as assessment in adding fractions with unlike denominators. The fractions use various common base fractions that students will see in the real world. There are 10 different worksheets with similar fractions to allow for lots of practice, give each student a different copy, or to ensure that assessment data is valid! I used these in a 4th and 5th grade classroom and they were very successful!
This facts game is so simple and students only need a pencil and dice. (Or whiteboard markers if you choose to laminate the game) Students can work independently, in groups, or as a whole class to test their addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills. The object of the game is to get one of the pin numbers as your answer in order to knock it down! The more pins you knock down, the better! My students love this as an early finisher game and love to play against each other. It is e
Included is a fully editable student led conferences letter and sign up sheet.
Since it is a pain to rewrite conference letters each time they roll around, I use the same letter, but edit the dates and times!
I use the sign up sheet not only to figure times that each parent can meet, but also as my own reference of the conference schedule.
I've found this method particularly successful, but if its not exactly what you want, just remember that it is completely editable to your own conference
These rewards are totally editable to fit your classroom. My students save up "Star lake Way" tickets to purchase items in our classroom. When they saved up the amount shown on the reward, they can purchase the reward card and use it when they like!
This math "Maze" is a leveled system for students to independently practice addition skills. The skills include: 3 digit + 3 digit 6 Digit + 6 Digit 4 digit + 6 digit Adding 3 #'s (All different digits) decimal + Decimal Decimal + Whole number Whole number + Decimal + Decimal Students work their way up levels, which is very motivating! Sometimes I even give a piece of candy when they complete a level. It makes addition practice much more engaging and leaves much of the prep work at the door.
This scavenger hunt is for students to show their parents to different areas around the room. it can be used for parent night, conferences, etc. It is completely edible and my students and parents love it!
This game is perfect for making tens! Plus students love collecting the acorns. I copy the directions and the game boards back to back. Then cut up the acorns and squirrel number pieces! The directions for the game are as follows: Help the squirrels gather acorns for their long winter hibernation! · Each player needs a game board. Put all number cards face down in a Draw Pile. Put all acorn cards on a pile in the middle of the table. · All players take 4 number cards each and put them face u
This is mainly for upper elementary, but some can be used with any grade. Includes 47 highly engaging activities for students to do at home while distance learning during COVID-19 closures. They can all be photographed or recorded and sent to the teacher however you please. You can either send this document to parents as is or you can pick and choose one activity per day and send it out. This also includes 2 blank pages for you to add your own choice options as well!
I am sending this document out to all my parents during our recent closures. I am going to send it both digitally and through snail mail, so they have access to more resources during the closures for Corona Virus. These resources are all great! They are almost all free and a few that include a cost for "premium" memberships. I have tried most of these sites with my kiddos and they loved them!
I cut these apart and use these rewards as incentives for good behavior. You can use the incentives I have written or create your own to fit your classroom. These slips can be given to students when great behavior is seen and can be redeemed for a one time use!
If you are like me, you like to see the basic set up of your year, then plan in more detail as your weeks go by. I normally like to use a real planner, but this year, I wanted to switch to a digital planner. I didn't like any of the apps and I didn't like any of the cutsie planners you could download. Instead, I created this simple planner, that runs through the months and allows you to type a short title for each subject of each day. It is all one word document and each page has 5 weeks. It sp
I use these math fact tracking sheets for students to log their math facts every day when doing timed facts tests. The assignment portion of the log allows you to put which facts they are working on, whether its multiplication, division etc. My favorite part is the space where students can write the facts they missed on the test. This helps them reflect on which facts they need to work on. Over time, students really gain ownership of their facts and start to see trends in their growth!
This editable behavior self reflection gives a space for students to score themselves on each criteria as well as the teacher to give them a score. This is such a great resource for conferences, since it really shows how the students view their behavior compared to how the teacher does. I usually use the following scoring system: 1- Rarely/Never/Needs a lot of reminders 2- Sometimes/Needs some reminders 3 - Usually/Most of the time/ Rarely needs reminders 4- All the time/ Never needs reminders
