This activity helps students gain number sense while learning how to create numeric expressions, both vertically and horizontally. The arrays assist students needing the extra assistance as well as help to self-check answers. While most will use the addition and subtraction cards, I've included multiplication and division for differentiation.
This download includes a set of five cards for each number 1-10. Each set includes the numerical digit, the written word, an array of dots, an addition equation and a subtraction equation. I've included 5 different examples of how these can be used in the classroom, from independent seat work to partner games. This would be perfect for K-2 students, or special education students needing additional interventions.
Identify and sort out factors for 10x10 times chart, as well as prime numbers 11 & 13. In addition to the product header cards ("Factors of ...") there are enough sorting cards to compare any three products at once. These cards are 2 3/4 x 1 1/2 inches and will fit into many pocket charts. An answer chart is included, which also identifies prime and square numbers.
