The Long Division Family is a visual teaching tool used with my students to help them remember the order of each operation needed to solve long division problems.
Dad- Divide
Mom- Multiply
Sister- Subtract
Brother- Bring Down
Rover- Remainder

My students struggle with this concept year after year, but I finally found something that works! The students love it and their test scores show that they are finally grasping this concept!
This is a rounding strategy I created and use with my 2nd through 5th graders. Not only does it work on finding place value (by circling the place value), but also works on rounding (by looking at or underlining the neighbor)!
The students must determine if the neighbor is a nice guy, numbers 0-4, or a b
TRICKS and RULES for MULTIPLICATION FACTS!
This is a great tool I use for my kiddos who have difficulty memorizing and need some sort of visual prompt or poem for them to remember how they can find the product.
EACH DAY is devoted to a NEW NUMBER to LEARN!
The order I teach the facts are: 0’s, 1’s, 2’s, 5’s, 4's, 9’s, 3’s, 6’s, 7’s, 8’s By the time my students get to the harder facts, they already know the answers from the rules of other numbers.
I usually start by passing out a blank Mu

While this MATH MAT can be used for any student, I personally created this for my students with either math deficits and/or reading comprehension deficits. This mat breaks down math story problems in order to solve, looking at key words and numbers to solve. I divided and labeled this into 4 squares/ process. For example, STEP 1: Important Numbers, ______STEP 3: Draw a Picture,_______) It provides a visual cue, while focusing on the “need-to-know” information.
Use for day-to-day math wo
I currently use this for my 4th and 5th grade students when solving story problems in math. You are welcome to add words, change, or delete words to help fit the needs of your students.
This is a great tool for my students who may not comprehend what the story problem is asking of them. Instead, they can look for a MATH CLUE (key word) to let them know what math operation they will be using to solve it.
**I laminate these for the kiddos to use again and again. I also have them place t
I created a blank multiplication chart for my students to fill in as we learn new multiplication facts.
I had a difficult time finding a blank one, for free, so please ENJOY:)
As a SPED teacher, I created this packet, based off a student's IEP. This particular student needed extra support in MATH and as a team we decided a paraprofessional would be responsible implementing and monitoring these skills. Each MATH skill is broken down into 3 parts, reading, writing, and counting numbers 1 through 10.
This packet includes the materials needed, student data table, and student-friendly I CAN statements based on the standards for monitoring progress.

I use this as a visual for both the student and myself. Our school district requires us to post learning targets for our students, but as a SPED teacher, I often have students working at multiple stages making a learning target too general and/or not specific enough to each of my student’s needs. This learning target is used for personal growth and tracking and can be completed by the student.
I typically laminate this form and attach it to a file folder, where I house addition facts/workshee
I separate each class, I teach, into binders using a rainbow system. My first class is hot pink, second class is red, third class is orange, fourth grade is yellow, etc. To have some consistency, I use these to slip in the front cover of my binders. This is a great way to have things look neat and clean, while using a systematic approach to organize my day. You are welcome to change anything about these…I just wanted to share my way of organizing my day.

Teaching style
Each one of my students is very special--it is up to me to try to make connections to their unique learning need(s) while supporting the gen ed teachers on the general education curriculum. My ultimate goal is to ensure my students are making progress toward grade level goals and their individual educational goals.
My students' are uniquely able to learn and adapt regardless of their learning disability and/or behavior barriers. The obstacles some of my students overcome is inspiring to their peers and most of all, ME!
