This project is based off Realidades Unit 5A. Students are required to use the conditional tense and career vocabulary to talk about the job of their dreams. Students will go through an "interview" process in which they are required to read, write, speak and listen in Spanish. Included in this 10-page project packet is a brainstorm page, an application in Spanish, a resume requirement and a cover letter requirement. This project is a fun way to assess your students commands and cooking vocabulary skills! They will be asked to create an eye-catching recipe page for your class cookbook, then they will record themselves actually making the dish! In their video, they will be telling you the directions for the recipe in Spanish as they cook. If possible, you can also have your students bring their dishes in to share with the class! They will need to write a biography about their artist, create a presentation to give to the class and they will create a five-minute mini-lesson based on their artist. This is a mini-project or in-class activity that will allow your students to explore different styles of Latino/ Hispanic music and dance. As they explore the different videos and songs, they will follow along with the questions in Spanish and answer them in full sentences. For this project, students have the option to focus on music or art depending on their individual interests. For art, they will be making a recreation of La Guernica using their childhood as inspiration. Then, they will use the present, preterite and imperfect tenses to describe their artwork. With the music project, they will find a song that they like in Spanish and will be asked to analyze it by highlighting the different tenses. This is an original unit exam based off the Review Unit of Realidades 3. It covers the regular present tense, irregular present, stem changing verbs, reflexive verbs, verbs like gustar and the regular preterite tense.

This project is based around the Realidades 2 textbook, Unit 2A. It requires all of the information that students have learned so far, with an emphasis on reflexive verbs and clothing vocabulary. The project includes the rubric, an outline, a rough draft page and a final draft page. Students should fill in the outline by answering the questions in complete sentences, then write their rough draft, then have a partner correct it before writing their final draft.

This project is a great idea for Black History Month! Your students will be exploring and researching Afro-Latino culture, and then presenting the information to the class. They can choose to research a person, place or specific topic (i.e. hair discrimination in the DR). This is a great intro to Afro-Latinos and their history, culture and traditions. Students will enjoy having the opportunity to learn more about Afro-Latinos, which is a topic often ignored in their history classes. Slides include a brief history reading in Spanish and a youtube video in English. The discussions should surround the discrimination, bias and racism that the videos highlight. (80 minute lesson)
