This is a performance task aligned with the common core standards: 6.NS.5, 6.NS.6, 6.NS.7, 6.NS.8, 6.G3. It focuses on students plotting points, answering questions about quadrants, reflecting those points along the x and y axis, creating a polygon, naming the polygon, finding perimeter and area of their polygon and explaining the use of absolute value in calculating distances. There are 21 questions and an answer key included.

This is an activity that I am using in one of my stations that I will be setting up on decimals. It is an activity that focuses on comparing and listing decimals from greatest to least or vise versa. The students use a candy corn template to order their decimals. Included is a candy corn template, decimal cards that can be laminated or cut out and a worksheet for them to write their final answers that includes the common core I can statements aligned to 5th grade at the top.
