I created a set of cards to tell my students the story of the history of writing. I cut out and laminated the text cards and the matching picture cards. I lay out the picture card as I tell the story, and then place the matching text underneath. When completed, this creates a timeline of the history of writing.

This is a pre-reading PowerPoint that gives background information about C.S. Lewis, Christian themes, and WWII. It is a wonderful pre-reading activity to get students excited about the text.

This is a wonderful writing assignment for students to complete after they have read "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe". It is in the John Collins FCA format, but would be good for any class. The assignment gives students three specific areas to work on while they are writing, which could be modified to fit your class.

This Power Point will introduce your students to the process of writing their own autobiography. It includes two brief examples of autobiographies in the last slides. The last slide contains a story starter web, that you can use on an interactive board to scaffold for the students.

This rubric is given to the students before they begin to write their autobiography, this way students know what is expected of them.

These three part cards are a wonderful way to spark interest in world landmarks. The cards were created to be used the the "Toobs" World Landmark set, which are wonderful small materials for the students to interact with. However, you don't need to have the "Toobs" set in order to use the cards. These cards can be printed once for use as a three part card and a second time to make a control of error booklet.

This letter to students and parents explains the autobiography project and gives them a chapter guideline. Chapters can be changed and rearranged by you, I found that I cut out some of the chapters toward the end of the project. You can even give them the whole list and let them pick the chapters they would like to write. This goes with my autobiography Power Point and rubric.

These cards can be used to place words in alphabetical order, to look up words in the dictionary, or to use in a writing prompt. In the Montessori classroom, we use these for all of the above.
