Teaching style

My teaching style centers on structure, consistency, and compassion. I believe every student deserves the opportunity to learn in a way that makes sense to them — whether that means hands-on activities, visual supports, or individualized data tracking systems. In my classroom, I use positive reinforcement, visual schedules, and multi-sensory strategies to help students stay engaged and motivated. I focus on meeting each learner where they are, celebrating small successes, and building confidence through achievable goals. I also believe that effective teaching begins with clear and consistent data collection. That’s why my resources are designed to make it easier for teachers and paraprofessionals to record progress, identify patterns, and adjust instruction to meet IEP goals. Above all, I strive to create learning experiences that are functional, fun, and empowering — helping students gain the skills they need for independence both in and beyond the classroom.

My own education history

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona, and my Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Special Education from National University in San Diego, California. I hold a California Education Specialist Instruction Credential in Moderate/Severe Disabilities (Extensive Support Needs), valid through 2029. My graduate studies and professional training have focused on individualized education programs (IEPs), behavioral intervention, positive reinforcement strategies, and evidence-based instructional design for students with autism and intellectual disabilities.
