This packet contains 24 task cards that are designed to give students more practice in identifying rules and patterns in tables and filling in blank spots.
Extending patterns in tables has been one of our most difficult TEKS at the 3rd grade level. Students needs as much practice as possible in identifying a rule, applying that rule and carrying the function out throughout the entire table. These task cards will provide that additional practice to students. They will also have a chance to show
Welcome to my store!!!!
This product contains 24 task cards for area of composite figures. One of our new area TEKS this year was composite and shaded figures. We took our strategy for finding area (multiplying length times width) and applied it to composite figures. Students were taught to break composite figures up into parts to make their multiplying much easier.
I used this activity as a review after teaching the unit. The students walked around the room in a gallery walk style and together
Hello!
This is a 24 task card product designed to give students more practice understanding strip diagrams and their application to basic operations.
As we moved further into strip diagrams and relating equations to pictorial models, I needed something where my students could interact with these representations. Once students were comfortable with identifying the pieces of a strip diagram and what the part-part-whole concept entailed, I needed to see if they understood the connection between al
Welcome!
These 60 task cards were created to correlate with the new Texas Standards, however they do also apply to the common core standards.
In this packet you will find:
- 36 task cards that have students practicing their 2 digit by 1 digit multiplication skills. Something to keep in mind, I’ve designed this set to become increasingly rigorous.
- The second set of task cards includes 24 word problems. Some of these will require multi-step solving, identifying extra information and applying t
This resource has 24 multiple choice task cards. I created this product to provide my students more practice when it came to problem solving with multiplication. Since they are a STAAR grade, I decided to make these a two-step problem solving set.
Students will multiply numbers up to 12 x 12 and then decide to either add or subtract.
These work great in small groups, partner work or even individual activities.
I’ve also used sets of ask card with interactive and problem solving notebooks.
This is a 36 task card resource. There are 24 multiple choice task cards that have students practicing their 2 digit by 2 digit multiplication skills. I have also added 12 problem solving task cards (open ended) that have students use a variety of problem solving skills and operations.
I used the first part of this resource in partners so that I knew my students were comfortable and fluent with the skill. I then used the problem solving cards as an assessment.
Welcome!
These division task cards are geared towards 3rd grade Texas standards. Students will practice and review division strategies such as representing division using arrays, repeated subtraction, equal groups and fact families.
The task cards include:
- 10 word problems
- 10 array models
- 10 repeated subtraction problems
- 10 equal groups
- 10 fact families
I've used these with my students in math centers as well as reviews for assessments.
Hope they help!
Hello! I made these 12 problem solving task cards because I found that my students, although fluent in counting bills and coins, lacked practice when presented with a problem solving situation involving money.
These task cards present students with real world problems that have students adding money amounts, then determining the amount of change that will be given.
I have included an answer sheet and answer key as well.
Thank you for stopping by!
Problem solving on a number line
In this 24 task card activity, students will practice several skills:
Problem solving skills with more than one step
Adding and subtracting with 1,000
Locating whole numbers on a number line
I’ve used these before as a partner activity, as it facilitates the discussion when it comes to deciding the location of a number on the number line. We also used this resource as an assessment for small groups. In this way, we were able to target those specific skills
Hello and welcome to my store!
I created these 24 interactive task cards my first year teaching 5th grade math. My students needed to practice the skill of grouping and working with order of operations.
These work best if they are laminated. That way students have enough room to work out the problem and erase if need be. I had my students partner up and walk around the classroom solving these.
Happy teaching!!
Hello! This product contains 12 open-ended problem solving task cards. I used these just this year at the end of our addition/subtraction of fractions with unlike denominators unit. Great for test prep!
Hello!
This 12 problem activity was created for a unit review in multiplication. We had already learned about the different ways of representing multiplication. In this activity, students will read a word problem that requires them to multiply in order to find the answer. When they do, they will also be asked to represent their answer in 5 different ways: equal groups, arrays, area models, repeated addition and equal jumps on a number line.
This turned out to be a great activity for my student
