This is my second official year of teaching but I have been working for students since I was in middle school while working at a summer program at Wayne State University.
A different way for students to look at the Expectations and Policies of the classroom. The students really enjoyed the change! It also helped that everything was separated by category so when I asked follow-up questions, they were easy to find! ****Unless you are Microsoft Word savvy, you'll want to make sure you stay within the margins of the boxes. Otherwise, they will move around and change size. Then you'll have to fix it back to line up. It can be difficult if you don't work with Micr
This crossword puzzle reviews Algebra 1, Geometry, & Algebra 2 vocabulary and also provides a way for students to self check their words. If the word doesn't fit, it's incorrect! The words chosen can be seen in the Preview. They are words that Algebra 2 students should already know. This is a great way to start the Algebra 2 school year off in making sure students are ready to get into Algebra 2 topics. The key is included. Have fun! Don't forget to leave a review :-)
I work for a summer program who uses the Sphero Robot. We used the App Macro Lab but that has since changed. This is our intro lesson. You'll need at least one student per group to download the Sphero App that you to basically remote control the Sphero. It is changed & updated frequently. The Apps are free! iPhones and Androids work. The good thing is that no matter how they change the App name or upgrade, this Introduction will be helpful to get your students started with the programming!
This is a cool way to have your students review words. Students thought it was fun to have the change of pace of me telling them they do the word search. They treated it like a game.
An alternative to could be having students fill in the words and give the word search as extra credit.
There will be Crossword version of this coming soon :-)
Don't forget to review and comment :-)
This is a notes pages for an Intro to Inequalities. The students would fold both sides in and cut the middle to make 4 doors (Directions Included)
I used this in my Interactive Notebook. The kids really enjoyed the change from writing all the time and loved the organization it brought.
I also included the Answer Key. It's a little sloppy because they are my notes that I used during the lesson.
FYI:
The second page is upside down so that when you print, it prints right side up.

This maze includes equations that can be solve by taking the square root of both sides and also by squaring both sides. Students will complete 13 out of the 15 available problems. Students will begin at the top and solve each equation to work themselves through the end of the Maze. This is a great change from a normal worksheet because it allows for students to be able to check themselves for any mistakes and have fun at the same time! The key is included as well. A fun way for students to practice solving Quadratic equations
At the bottom of each problem in the scavenger hunt, I included a Mathematician's name and a number (This was helpful in case a student made a mistake, I was able to see which problem the mistake occurred). It was a great conversation opener and I even ended up offering Extra Credit for students who wanted to research them!
The problems used, post-up problems & the Key is included.
Students should be given one of the problems to b
This maze includes Systems of Equations that can be solve be solved by Elimination but can of course be solved by Substitution. Students will complete 10 out of 11 problems. This activity requires no prep for you; just print and pass out to your students! Students will begin at the top (where it says Start) and solve each equation. Follow the answer of the previous problem to the next problem and they will work themselves through the end of the Maze. This is a great change from a normal workshe
This crossword puzzle reviews Quadratic Functions Vocabulary and also provides a way for students to self check their words. If the word doesn't fit, it's incorrect! **No spaces between words. The words chosen can be seen in the Preview. They are words that Algebra students should already know, once they have completed the Quadratic Functions unit. This will be a great way to review vocabulary words before a test! This can also serve as a Pre-Test before the unit to see what the students know b
This is a cool way to play Bingo with your students without needing multiple sheets. The students will create their own!! This is awesome because they can't say you cheated ;-) The answers are at the bottom of the page and they will place them wherever they want on the sheet. You will give them a problem, they will factor it and then cross out their answer. Some Ways to Play Bingo (If you have other ideas, PLEASE leave them in a comment below!): Once one person wins gets Bingo, game overWhen o
Provides students with a fun way to review Exponent Rules. The last page (Page 6) includes the problems that will the teacher will use for the BINGO game, along with the answers that match them.
There are 5 different "boards" for this game so the students will have different sheets to play off of. I find that they have more fun if they pick the board they will play from.
By the way, after each problem, I have a student say their answer. If I see too many students mark their sheet after the a
These notes were used in my Algebra 1 and 2 classes where we are currently implementing Interactive Notebooks. The students liked that I had saved them a bunch of writing with this one :-).
You could, of course, simply use these notes and treat them as regular notes and have the students write it out old school style. I've taught it both ways and its fine.
**Helpful Teacher Comment** Be sure to allow the students to discuss words they think will fall under each Operation category before writ
This Scavenger Hunt is a great way to review simplifying expressions. There are 15 problems for the students to complete. Cut the sheets in half and distribute them to the students. The problem that they start with does not matter! Print a second set of the cards (cut in half) to post up around the room. Students will complete their problem, then circulate the room to find the card with their answer; then complete that next problem on that card. They will be finished when they get back to the

They asked for more like it!
I attached the notes as a doc so that you can edit it to your liking!
I made this after I taught Log Properties to my students. They knew the properties but were struggling to figure out what to do first when Expanding and Condensing. After doing this half sheet with them, followed by more practice problems, they were Log Masters! This is meant to be copied double-sided and cut in half to make a half sheet, front and back. Hope it helps your students as much as it helped mine! PS...Don't forget to leave your opinion ;-)

Giving a test retake but need a way for the students AND parents to be held accountable?? Here's something I've created. I got ideas from all over the place and created a document that puts all the "best" ideas all in one. Hope you like it!
PS...Don't forget to leave your opinion ;-)
In celebration of Pi Day with my students, I needed something relatively quick and interesting. I searched online and saw the idea of a "Pi Chain". The document is just the first 500 digits of Pi, nice and big, with directions of what I plan to do.
