Teaching style

Learning doesn't happen in isolation; my role is to set the stage for my learners to engage in meaningful activities that connect their prior learning with new learning. As a facilitator of learning, I plan engaging and differentiated lessons that engage my learners of all ages on a deep level. I am not a curriculum writer. I specialize in the place where instruction and assessment meet - data. Using formative data drives my decisions and guides me to continuous improvement. Finding ways for colleagues to become comfortable and confident in this is a passion!

I have plenty of years of study - and tuition dollars invested - to add several letters after my name. The additional degrees combined with two decades experience working in a professional learning community at an urban school have provided me with job embedded authentic education that is as valuable to me as my advanced degrees.
