Second Grade Reading Fluency Tracker
If your second graders are anything like mine, they are in the process of becoming readers. One aspect of reading development I monitor closely is their oral reading fluency. Fluency is an important building block to comprehending connected text!
This spreadsheet allows me to visibly monitor students across the fall, winter, and spring benchmark periods. The spreadsheet identifies a weekly growth goal for each student. I monitor ORF every four weeks, at minimum. This is the tool I use for

Learning doesn't happen in isolation; my role is to set the stage for my learners to engage in meaningful activities that connect their prior learning with new learning. As a facilitator of learning, I plan engaging and differentiated lessons that engage my learners of all ages on a deep level.
I am not a curriculum writer. I specialize in the place where instruction and assessment meet - data. Using formative data drives my decisions and guides me to continuous improvement. Finding ways for colleagues to become comfortable and confident in this is a passion!
