I have been teaching sixth grade math at Madison Middle School for 10 years! It is a joy to work with the kids in Madison. I enjoy math more than most people you know and love to share this passion with my students.
This 61 page file includes station activities focused on coordinate graphing and relationships between two variables. They are designed to align with common core standards for sixth grade math. You save 15% when buying the bundle as compared to all the activities purchased individually. As I add more activities, I will increase the price accordingly, but you will have access to the new file for no additional cost!! I've also included 5 pages of organizational tips and best practices for station
This 17 page file includes station activities focused on coordinate graphing. They are designed to align with common core standards for sixth grade math.
I created these activities to use in station rotations in my classroom. However, they can easily be used in a variety of ways. You will find activities within this file also suitable for math centers, game day, formative assessment, or summative assessment.

This activity was created for my middle school math stations on statistics. It is brief (one page), but will give your students the opportunity to each complete a unique set of problems. They choose a card with a set of numerical data and use that data to make and analyze their graph. This way when they ask each other for help, it cannot be, “What’s the answer to number one?” but rather, “Can you explain how to do number one?” The conversations and explanations that arise are great.

This is a "Go Fish" Game for coordinate graphs. Students match points on a graph to their coordinates. It includes 36 cards. This activity is designed in my classroom stations for groups of four. However, students could play in pairs or in larger groups. It works perfectly in stations as it is easily differentiated. As my students are rotating from one station to the next, I can grab the stack of cards and remove some pairs to modify the game for a lower level group.

This activity was created for middle school math stations on line plots. As students rotate through stations, they can be challenged in individual, partner, and group activities and games. This is an individual practice station. Here, students work independently on a guided problem solving activity. It requires students to create and analyze a line plot using fractional data . I laminate the included student directions to keep at the station.

This activity was created for my middle school math stations on relationships in the coordinate plane. It is brief (one page), but will give your students the opportunity to each complete a unique set of problems. They choose a card with a specific fundraiser and use it to complete the activity. They must make a table, graph, and then analyze the relationship. When they ask each other for help, it cannot be, “What’s the answer to number one?” but rather, “Can you explain how to do number one?” T
This activity was created for middle school math stations on proportional reasoning. It is brief (one page), but will give your students the opportunity to each complete a unique set of problems. They choose a card with two scenarios, then use a graph and the unit rates to determine if the scenarios are proportional. This way when they ask each other for help, it cannot be, “What’s the answer to number one?” but rather, “Can you explain how to do number one?” The conversations and explanations t
I started using choice boards last year and LOVE them! I never gave my students the opportunity to be creative in my classroom. For years, it was notes, homework, and repeat until the test. These choice boards give students the ability to express themselves within their particular learning style. I have been so impressed with the results I get from my students.
This choice board focuses on Coordinates. Also included in this file are mini posters that describe each option on the choice board. I

This is a comprehensive vocabulary review for coordinate relationships in middle grade math. It includes 24 essential vocabulary words in an "I Have Who Has" game. My station rotations are in groups of four. I like to use this as a group station. Just laminate and cut out the cards. Be sure that all of them are distributed to the students in the group. One student begins by reading the "Who has...." question from their card. The student with the correct response then reads their whole card. The

This is a great station activity or assignment for the common core standards on coordinate graphs. Students must create three examples for each description. This is perfect for familiarizing them with points on the four quadrants, the axes, as well as reflections, and distances between points. The "three of a kind" is a very rich activity in a small space! I laminate the included student directions to keep at the station.

This activity was created for my middle school math stations on coordinates. It will give your students the opportunity to each plot a unique set of points in the first quadrant. They roll dice to determine values for x and y-coordinates. Then, they use those values to plot ten poins.
