Students need extra practice in factoring complex trinomials. What better way to get them engaged then to spice up their practice with a little escape room adventure. Students are read a brief scenario and then factor their expression. They then look for their factors (clues) and record the number. All the students have to work together to get the correct combo and escape the class!
What’s included:
1. Scenario description
2. Instructions
3. Quadratics to factor
4. Clue sheets
5. Answer keys
Students struggle over creating linear expressions from the text of a word problem. To help them I have created two resources here. The first is a walkthrough aiding them in the construction of a linear equation using: 1. slope and intercept 2. slope and point 3. two points The answers to this guided activity is provided. The second part of this workbook is a cut and paste activity where students read the word problem and search for the correct expression to go with the statement. An answer key
Students can practice simplifying rational expressions using this fun colouring activity. Change up the usual math class by allowing your learners to practice the math and then find satisfaction as their colourful solution appears. A range of problem difficulty is presented to give a complete breadth of practice. Worked out solutions are also included. What is provided? 1. Question page 2. Simplified version page 3. A chart to match questions with their simplified variants. 4. A grid to colour
Finding the area of a triangle using three points can be difficult for students because of the number of steps. This activity is designed to get students out of their seats a little and guide them to the solution. If they get stuck they can check the hints and be on their way to the answer.
Students often struggle over creating expressions to solve from word problems. I have created this resource to help guide them and see the patterns in the various types of quadratic word problems that they can encounter. In this activity, students will paste the correct equations to the quadratic word problems. An answer key is provided which makes this activity very student directed. This allows teachers to focus individually on the students. Because the students get to choose their answer fro
