Thoroughly Modern Math

This is an entire ratios, proportions, and percentages unit designed around the task of running a food truck. Students will pick menu items either via research or from carefully selected recipes then learn how to determine the cost to make those items. They will decide on price points and calculate the percent profit from those items. This google sheet is designed to work with the SAFMEDS method of learning. This particular sheet is set to track fluency of math facts every Friday for the 21-22 school year but is obviously very easy to edit to your needs. SAFMEDS is also a fantastic method for vocabulary. Since it is so easily modified, I designed with middle school in mind but the sheets are flexible enough for any grade level. After testing their mastery, students will enter their data. This slide deck was designed for middle school math teachers to use with their students in goal setting fluency using the SAFMEDS method. This is a collaborative activity for students to practice comparing the different characteristics of linear functions.

This is a leveled google sheet for systems of equations. Each level gets slightly harder, so it's great for differentiation! Correct answers will change a cell to green so students get automatic feedback as they work.

This self-checking google sheet gives students equations match in groups of parallel lines. There is a challenge set of equations for students to rearrange equations into slope-intercept and students can write their own equations. This is good practice for right before solving systems of equations by graphing.

This is a matching activity to practice dividing fractions by fractions. The first column has whole number quotients, the second column has fractional quotients so you can differentiate by assigning one or both columns. A second slide is included for students to show their work.

This maze allows students to practice evaluating exponential expressions with an element of self-checking as students must end at the "End" square. It is great for center work, homework, or independent practice.

This matching activity takes students from distributive property for partial product to using distributive property with variables. An answer key is included as the last slide.
