Algebraic Properties Tic-Tac-Toe Cards

Created by

These 18 properties cards are to be printed front/back so that the answers are on the back of the cards. Students turn over a card, answer the question. If they get it correct, they can place a marker on a tic-tac-toe board. Then, it's their partner's turn. It provides motivation for practice of this concept. My students loved it! It covers distributive property, associative property, commutative property, etc.

Handout includes the rules for adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing integers. It has examples and includes a story at the bottom that helps students remember rules with signs. Great for keeping as notes in student binders!

Roll, Fill, and Win Decimals

Students roll dice to fill in number blanks for problems. As they are playing with a partner, the student with the greatest answer wins. Students get really competitive with this game while working on all different kinds of decimal problems :)

My own education history

Additional biographical information

I think it's always important to thank the people that got you to where you are... Mary Wolfe (4th grade), Jennifer Hanson (journalism), Ryan Burrows (HS LA and Scholar's Bowl), Ron Morrill (JH math), Brock Wenciker (HS math), and my mom (JH/HS librarian). Without teachers like these, I wouldn't be half the teacher I am today.
