This is a version of spoons that is played with representations of the same fraction (see preview). How to play: The object of playing Spoons is to get four of a kind. The trick to winning the game of spoons is to wait for a moment when all other players are distracted before reaching into the table to grab a spoon. Only a player with four of a kind can do so, and then everyone else must make a mad dash to claim a spoon of their own. Remember that there is one less spoon than the number of play

Very informative 28-slide powerpoint presentation that introduces the algebraic properties and gives students a chance to practice!

These 18 properties cards are to be printed front/back so that the answers are on the back of the cards. Students turn over a card, answer the question. If they get it correct, they can place a marker on a tic-tac-toe board. Then, it's their partner's turn. It provides motivation for practice of this concept. My students loved it! It covers distributive property, associative property, commutative property, etc.
