Integer golf is a fun activity for students to play and serves as an effective way to practice integer operations. There are 9 holes (tasks) that students must complete. See the preview document for directions (plus rules to another integer game). The document is the tracking sheet for the game.

Finding the Nth term in a sequence PPT
One of the 7th grade tested indicators in Kansas requires students to be able to write an nth term expression that could be used to find the nth term in a sequence. This powerpoint includes instructions on how to write the expressions, guided practice, and independent practice.

Real World Geometry/Scale Drawings/Scale Factor
This guided practice worksheet gives students step-by-step instructions to finding missing measurements in scale drawings. Some of the questions provide drawings. Others are word problems. There are "bubbles" with arrows for students to record the steps they use.

This PPT is 25 slides long. It gives a table of square numbers and a table of cube numbers at the beginning. Then it has slides where students must identify if the pattern is square or cube. once they have mastered this part, there are slides where they must fill in the the missing number in teh pattern.

This study guide has fill-in-the-blank notes and a handful of practice problems over the following: perimeter, area, circles, angles, squares, rectangles, triangles, rhombi, and trapezoids.

Translating Between Linear Representations Memory Game
See the preview document for game instructions. The third page of the document has examples for students to work through before beginning the game. The memory cards are either linear equations (in y=mx+b form), a graph, or a table. This is a great way to get students to analyze the information rather than a worksheet.

My own education history
I attended Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas from 2003-2007. I graduated with a BSE in middle school mathematics and journalism. I hope to start my masters in Instructional Design and Technology in the summer of 2011 :)

Without teachers like these, I wouldn't be half the teacher I am today.
