For the ELA state test extended response, I have my students learn a very formulaic essay style that they can later tweak. Teaching style
I strongly believe that student should drive the learning. You won't find many bubbly fonts and or busy templates in my shop but you will find hands-on, cooperative learning experiences that are inclusive, student-centered and process-oriented. My products are based on emergent, socially responsible curriculum and strong SEL scaffolding in the style of Responsive classroom. Kids don't need all that commercial stuff! In fact, it can be overwhelming and intimidating to always be handed cute pre-made work that leaves little room for creative expression! Perfection and uniformity are not the goals of education! Learning is!
