Description
Question words are difficult for English language learners. Trying to keep track of which question word will result in which type of answer can be confusing. This is a quick activity to practice forming and answering questions using the primary question words: who, what, when, where, why, how. The activity uses the same pictures as my Cause and Effect Pictures activity and asks students to write six questions about each picture. Repeat questions are not allowed and I encourage students to ask more creative questions than, "Who are these people?" Each page has a box for each question word and a picture. There are 10 pictures in all. Once students have finished writing their questions, I gather up the sets and redistribute them randomly. Students then answer each question using a complete sentence. A paper version of this activity is also available.
