Description

This introduction to digital photography class is designed for the start of school as a way to get students thinking about recording information in a designated space, considering what photographers inspire them, and as a way for the students to get to know each other.

The students are tasked with designing and creating their own photo journal, which combines math and art with the task of cutting a centered photo window out of the cover. The cover cut-out provides a space for the students to showcase their favorite photographs over the course of the semester.

In addition to creating the photo journal, students have to research photographer quotes to add inspiration to their journals.

This pack has everything you need to introduce this photo project:

➣Lesson plan

➣Photo journal presentation

➣Window cut out handout

➣Photographer quote reflection sheet

This product was created in collaboration with my amazing friend and coworker, Meagan Brooker. Meagan has taught for many years, with a focus on AP Art, Drawing, and Photography. In addition, she has been responsible for capturing our annual family photographs, maternity, and newborn pictures that I will treasure forever. This girl knows her stuff, and better yet, how to teach it to students.
