This bundle on laboratory safety can be used in any science class for grades 6 and up. This bundle has it all: Safety rules powerpoint with notes for teacher and students, lab activity, lab safety contract, quiz, medical emergency form, and pre lab preparation worksheet.
As science teachers, it is our responsibility to bring science to life for our students by exposing them to as much lab work and experimentation as possible. However, it is essential that we maintain a safe environment by enforcing the lab safety rules.. Stress safety from day 1 and continue to stress it throughout the school year.
Both printable and digital versions of all resources in this bundle are included. The student handouts can be printed or used in the paperless digital format in your Google Drive, Google Classroom, Microsoft OneDrive, or similar. This resource is perfect for traditional classroom settings, 1:1 schools, or for distance learning.

- Lab Safety Notes for the Teacher: This is a 5 page set of teacher lecture notes.
- Lab Safety Notes for the Student: This is a 5 page handout to give to the students while you are presenting the rules via the PowerPoint presentation. It is an outline that the students will complete as they watch the PowerPoint.
- Lab Safety Contract: I require that all students and their parents sign the lab safety contract.
- Lab Safety Activity. Take your students to the lab on the first day to complete this short activity that will familiarize the students with the lab.
- Lab Safety Quiz. This is a short quiz over all lab safety rules. Answers are included.
- Medical Emergency Form. This is a personal information form for each student. This information will be needed by the instructor in case of an accident.
- Pre-Lab Worksheet: I require my students to read the lab procedure prior to lab day and bring this completed pre-lab worksheet to class with them on lab day.
