Description

This one- or two-player math game is a perfect resource for math centers and guided math groups. In this game, students must read, write, and build numbers to ten by looking at a number and building a set of that many items. Also great for preschool and pre-k students.

This product includes:

• All game pieces in both color and black and white

• Three versions: Read Build and Write version, Read and Build version, and

• Optional manipulatives

• Three different recording sheets to choose from

• Twelve I can statements to choose from, including a ‘write your own’ option

How to Play – Version 1

• Students place the Gameboard in front of them and the Game Cards in a pile FACE DOWN

• Students draw a Game Card from the pile, place it on the Gameboard, and use manipulatives or whiteboard markers to build that many gumballs (see below for manipulative choices.)

• Students use whiteboard markers to write the number multiple times at the bottom of the gameboard

Optional: Students fill out one of the recording sheets as they play.

How to Play – Version 2

• Students choose a Game Card

• Students use manipulatives or whiteboard markers to build that many gumballs (see below for manipulative choices.)

• Students use whiteboard markers to write the number within the outline provided

• Students choose another Game Card and repeat until all Game Cards have been done

Optional: Students fill out one of the recording sheets as they play.

How to Play – Version 3

• Students choose a Game Card

• Students use manipulatives or whiteboard markers to add more gumballs to the ones already there (see below for manipulative choices.)

• Students use whiteboard markers to write the number within the outline provided

• Students choose another Game Card and repeat until all Game Cards have been done

Optional: Students fill out one of the recording sheets as they play.

Manipulative Choices (All Versions)

• Print, laminate, and cut out the manipulatives provided in the game

• Use puffballs or cotton balls

• Draw circles using a whiteboard marker (on laminated gameboard)

Three optional recording sheets included

-After building the correct number of gumballs, trace and write the number

-After building the correct number of gumballs, color the corresponding number of circles

-After building the correct number of gumballs, draw the correct number of circles
