Use these organized guided notes to introduce your students to sequences and recurrence relations. In the notes, students begin by looking at basic arithmetic sequences before exploring some geometric and other lesson common sequences. They are tasked with both finding certain terms of a sequence given the rule and with developing their own rules or formulas for given sequences.
The second page looks at recurrence relations (sometimes referred to as now-next) in which students must know a previous term before finding the next one. Again, students will be required to find terms and to develop their own formulas.
These notes are designed for Algebra 2 or above and were originally created for IB Math Topic 1.
