Fun with shapes and playdoh
This is a fun activity to do with small children.
With the playdoh, they have to make the shape and place it inside the shape. This promotes and increases fine motor skills and manipulation.
If you feel the playdoh is too easy or simply want to change the activity, allow the child to make a shape within the lines of the shape, without any deviation.
This activity also promotes visual motor integration, which in the long run helps with their handwriting skills.

As an Itinerant Early Childhood Special Education teacher, we need different types of tools than a classroom teacher. Here is a IEP Goal Data Collection form that can be used for each EC child servicing with a disability. Science: The Making of Ice Cream vs the Freezing of Water
This lesson covers the freezing temperature of water and how it can be altered to lower the temperature at which water freezes. In doing so, students perform a lab to make their own ice cream. It also allows students to measure using a graduated cylinder and triple beam balance. Measurements are made in metric units. Also included are questions, a graph for students and several questions regarding the lab. There is also some ideas for extension activities.
