STEAM project: Building my Resort (with rubrics)
It is a STEAM Project packet for students to build their own resort. It is a group project (ideally 5-6 students per group). In this resource you will find a PowerPoint to show the students with explanations to each task. Students should build a miniature of the resort, as well as advertisement, brochure, welcome letter, etc.

Long Division Traditional Method Helper
I have used this color coded system for years and the students have an easier time learning the tradtional steps to long division. I do phase this "helper" out. The helper is also connected to the saying "Does McDonalds Sell CheeseBurgers?" to help them remember the steps. I hope this helps your students as much as it has helped mine.

Problem Solving is the cornerstone of a successful math program. The following 25 problems can be used individually or with groups. Moving from Remainders to Decimal Quotients
This is an interactive notebook entry we used about what to do when you are using long division, and you get a reminder. It shows (using color coded directions) how to add a decimal and zeros, and gives directions about how far to take it out. For our class scholars divide until the quotient ends, or they find a repeating decimal, or in the case of an irrational quotient, they hit 3 decimal places. This document would be very easy to edit for your own class needs.

Dividing With Decimals
This sheet has basic examples of how to divide with decimals. It includes practice problems that can be done either alone or with teacher demos.
After solving the problem, students find their answer in the secret code at the bottom of the page. Each time they find an answer in the code, they are to write the letter of the problem above it. Once finished, an answer to a cheesy riddle is revealed. :) They enjoy this added joy factor.

Design a Map Activity
I use this activity to help students plan a map of a city or town that they will later draw on a poster board.
I have uploaded the activity in MS Word format so that you can change the activity to meet your own specific needs. The only part of the activity that can't be changed is the Employment Chart as it's an image.
I have included a short and long version of the evaluation for the prep work and a rubric for the poster board design. I usually photocopy all of the material and hand it out as

Making an Informative Math Poster
A week-long math project that involves making an informative math poster about a subject in math that the student feels comfortable about. Students need to do some writing and critical thinking about what makes some concepts harder than others, and get to spend time on a subject that they feel good about, giving them some much-needed math confidence.
The project is 2 pages long, and includes detailed instructions, an agenda to guide the students every day for 5 weeks, and a rubric for grading.
