About the store

Experience

This is my tenth year teaching fulltime. I have taught grades 9-12 high school English, Journalism, Yearbook and AP and IB Psychology. I am an experienced MYP and IB Language A Literature English teacher.

Teaching style

I believe in hands-on, inquiry and project-based learning. One of the things I enjoy most about teaching is nurturing creativity. I teach with the idea that great conversations lead to deep learning. Teaching AP Psych helped me become a better teacher in every way. (All that info. on the brain, learning and memory, language acquisition, etc. really generated some “aha” moments.) I love integrating art, music, history and psychology into lessons about writing and novels. Thank you so much to Image Boutique for designing my logo. Awards & shining teacher moments

Gold Medalist Placement, Columbia Scholastic Press Association (2012). 100 percent pass rate with my AP Psych students.

My own education history

I have a BA in English with a minor in psychology, an education degree and a MA in journalism.
