About the store

Experience

This is my tenth year teaching fulltime. I have taught grades 9-12 high school English, Journalism, Yearbook and AP and IB Psychology. I am an experienced MYP and IB Language A Literature English teacher.

Teaching style

I believe in hands-on, inquiry and project-based learning. One of the things I enjoy most about teaching is nurturing creativity. I teach with the idea that great conversations lead to deep learning. Teaching AP Psych helped me become a better teacher in every way. (All that info. on the brain, learning and memory, language acquisition, etc. really generated some “aha” moments.) I love integrating art, music, history and psychology into lessons about writing and novels. Thank you so much to Image Boutique for designing my logo. Check out Image Boutique clip art at: Image Boutique

Awards & shining teacher moments

Gold Medalist Placement, Columbia Scholastic Press Association (2012). 100 percent pass rate with my AP Psych students.

My own education history

I have a BA in English with a minor in psychology, an education degree and a MA in journalism.

Additional biographical information

I’m a huge fan of Martin Seligman’s positive psychology movement. Thanks for sharing on TpT. Isn’t it awesome to have so many resources at our fingertips?
