Easy to use interactive notebook page to help students understand characterization! My students loved it and feedback was positive! There sill only be 3 "flaps" that open: Shows traits by what the character says (words), Shows traits by what the character does (actions), and Shows traits by what the character thinks (thoughts). The remainder will be glued down. Tip: Only have students use glue sticks! A nice list of character traits should be printed and accompany this product.

I created this entrance ticket for my 6th grade ELA (Standards-Based Instruction) classroom. Once students understand their key vocabulary for RI.1, they are ready to attack implicit vs. explicit information at level 2 of Webb's Depth of Knowledge (DOK2). I have used this simple activity with my sixth graders to assess their abiity to distinguish between the two types of evidence they will encounter within texts in a T-chart Graphic Organizer. Could be used on a choice board (as I have used) or in literacy centers! Answer Key is included.
