Easy to use interactive notebook page to help students understand characterization! My students loved it and feedback was positive!
There sill only be 3 "flaps" that open: Shows traits by what the character says (words), Shows traits by what the character does (actions), and Shows traits by what the character thinks (thoughts). The remainder will be glued down.
Tip: Only have students use glue sticks!
A nice list of character traits should be printed and accompany this product.

Type your standard of focus in the center. Differentiate by providing students with activities to match learning targets at different depths of knowledge (DOK)! Great tool for organization and easy board for students to use!
Once students complete an activity with success...I allow them to use a bingo "dobber" to mark the box (oddly, sixth graders get motivated by that!)
The bottom right square is designated for an "end-of-standard" writing assignment or project...leaning closer to a DOK level
Look at the given photograph of the 9/11 aftermath. Caption it (who, what, when, where, why, how?)...then complete the quick write (prompt).
As always...editable!
This template allows students to search a novel, or any other text, and record conflicts...while depicting the type of conflict it is. The best part is...it supports Common Core Standards by requiring textual evidence to support the claim! Check it out!

R: Restate the Question
A: Answer the Question

These are simple questions that require text support. One question is "We Do", or guided practice. The other is for independent work "I Do". This "I Do" can be used as an exit ticket t
Using a "Character Grid"...similar to a Coordinate Grid...students will determine where each Christmas character fits on the grid. Then, there is a sheet where students write down the actual coordinates of each character. Here is the catch...students then must provide evidence to why each character displays the traits chosen "adventurous or cautious...joyous or unpleasant". This is a fun way for kids to learn...without knowing that they are even learning! You could even add "snipets" of the show
