Easy to use interactive notebook page to help students understand characterization! My students loved it and feedback was positive! There sill only be 3 "flaps" that open: Shows traits by what the character says (words), Shows traits by what the character does (actions), and Shows traits by what the character thinks (thoughts). The remainder will be glued down. Tip: Only have students use glue sticks! A nice list of character traits should be printed and accompany this product.

Type your standard of focus in the center. Differentiate by providing students with activities to match learning targets at different depths of knowledge (DOK)! Great tool for organization and easy board for students to use! Once students complete an activity with success...I allow them to use a bingo "dobber" to mark the box (oddly, sixth graders get motivated by that!) The bottom right square is designated for an "end-of-standard" writing assignment or project...leaning closer to a DOK level

This template allows students to search a novel, or any other text, and record conflicts...while depicting the type of conflict it is. The best part is...it supports Common Core Standards by requiring textual evidence to support the claim! Check it out! I kindly ask for feedback on this product, as I am in the process of establishing my own store. Thanks for rating this item!!!!

Using a "Character Grid"...similar to a Coordinate Grid...students will determine where each Christmas character fits on the grid. Then, there is a sheet where students write down the actual coordinates of each character. Here is the catch...students then must provide evidence to why each character displays the traits chosen "adventurous or cautious...joyous or unpleasant". This is a fun way for kids to learn...without knowing that they are even learning! You could even add "snipets" of the show

Included: 2 Graphic Organizers for writing and argument/opinion essay. One lends more to 6th grade (or enrichment students in grades 4-5). The other is intended for grades 4-5, but will work well for adapting assignments to meet special needs (I use it with my lower ability students in both 6th and 7th ELA). Each section of the graphic organizers provides students with a very simple self-assessment tool (faces) to rate their level of understanding. When you see the frowning face circled...that
