About the store
I started teaching Kindergarten in 2012 and then moved up to 4th grade the following year and have been teaching math to the 4th grade ever since. Before teaching full time I subbed for two different districts grades k-8. I have never not worked with children in some way. It is my passion and I am in love with it! I have a Gifted Cluster group with students who accelerate from 3rd grade. In that rotation the gifted teacher on my campus co-teaches with me three days a week. Outside of my classroom I also CoLead the Math PLC on my campus and am an advisor for the K-8 Student Council. Last year I was given the district title Lead Gifted Cluster Teacher and facilitate classes to other teachers in district that want their gifted endorsement and I manage the gifted summer camp.

August Challenge Math Calendar aligned to Eureka and Engage NY

To me, the most important thing for my students to take away from 4th-grade math is that math is doable, enjoyable, and everywhere. The goal for these homework calendars is to bring out the realness of the math in the student’s world. Allowing them to take ownership of their math skills and really experience the why behind their learning. I have created these NEW homework journal calendars that are also aligned to the Eureka Math AND Engage NY curriculum, however, they step up the rigor and inc

Experience

I started teaching Kindergarten in 2012 and then moved up to 4th grade the following year and have been teaching math to the 4th grade ever since. Teaching style

I love my classroom to be student led as much as possible. I plan a lot of hands-on, movement, technology, and station/center activities.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I was nominated as rookie teacher of the year for my district in 2012. My Principal and Mentor Teacher (who oversees ALL new teachers) both separately nominated me. I was disqualified only because I I started a month later in to the school year. I still count this as an award for myself! Even with a late start they still thought I was great. In 2016 I was given given a title of Lead Gifted Cluster Teacher. I work under the Gifted Coordinator for our district.

My own education history

I have my BS from NAU in Early Childhood Education. An endorsement in Elementary Ed, My Full SEI Endorsement and my Provisional Gifted Endorsement. I am also halfway through my Masters in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University.

Additional biographical information

Away from school I am the wife of a handsome man since 2007. Together we have 2 pretty little girls, one studly boy, a quiet tortoise, and a crazy fluffy dog. I enjoy Starbucks and bad TV. I am a terrible speller so if you ever see any mistakes in my work please let me know. I wanted to start selling products on here only because they are things I couldn't already find. I love TPT and that it is teachers helping teachers be great! Enjoy :)
