Students will enjoy being a piece of a beautiful quilt that is created by plotting points and coloring the sections on a coordinate grid. They are to following directions with coloring and plotting. Once all students are completed, the pieces are put together to create a patterned quilt. Students can practice plotting ordered pairs in quadrant I to form a mystery picture=The Cat in the Hat! Additional instructions are given at the end to help students color the picture.

This interactive is intended to help your students understand equivalent fractions as having the same value, even though they may look different. Your students will each get a pizza with toppings. You will give them a fraction and tell them to put their choice of toppings on that fractional part. Next, you will ask the students to cut their pizza into smaller sized pieces. Write the equivalent fraction made. Ask the students, “Did you get more pizza or do you still have the same amount?”

Create your own center by printing the green eggs, writing mathematics equations on each egg and number each egg. Then pass out the worksheet to the students to solve the problems.
