The QU Wedding has become a popular event in many classrooms. To commemorate this occasion, my colleagues and I purchase Ring Pops to give our students as favors to remember attending the ceremony. I made these tags to attach to each treat.
This game is great for reviewing three-dimensional shapes for common core standard K.G2. After printing on white or colored card stock the teacher should cut on the black line to make game cards. (You may consider printing out more than one set of the cards to increase the level of difficulty.) The cards should be lined up face down on the table so a small group of students can play a matching game. A student must have the image of a 3D shape and its name to get a match. If a students gets
This resource includes labels and pictures of common 3D objects that can be printed on card stock, cut apart, and laminated for use on anchor charts in the classroom when introducing or reviewing common core standard K.G2. Students can place the objects in the correct place then give additional information to the teacher to be added to the chart. (Be sure to point out to children that it is the Bugles chips inside the bag and not the bag itself that are shaped like cones.)
This math center activity is great for the holiday season and for reviewing common core standards K.CC.3 & 4. Students will choose a Christmas tree card, count the ornaments on the tree, write the number on a line below the first tree on the Recording Sheet, then color the tree. Next, the student will continue with the next card and record it on the sheet as before. The teacher will need to cut the Christmas tree cards in half since there are two to a page. They can also be colored and lam
I created these materials for Demonstration Stations my students visited at the end of a measurement unit. The printables include: signs, an exit ticket, and a recording sheet/accountability piece for each station. As students travel to garden-themed measurement stations called Tall Tools, How Does Your Garden Grow?, Green Thumb and Sizing Up Seeds they will use non-standard units to measure and compare the length of common items. At the Tall Tools station, students will order gardening tools li
These task cards can be used by students individually or in a small group setting to practice skills associated with Common Core Standards K.CC4a,b, and c. (After printing on card stock, the teacher could cut the pages in half since they are printed two on a page.) The cards can be even be placed in clear page protectors to make them more durable. Students will need unifix cubes to do this hands-on activity. First, the child will place one unifix cube on each of the ones pictured to practice
This hands-on activity gives students the opportunity to find the relationship between two-dimensional and three-dimensional shapes. Students take a specific three-dimensional object and trace/stamp one of its faces in the box. They then look at the two-dimensional shape that resulted to see if there is a relationship (for example: tracing/stamping the face of a cube will result in a square, tracing/stamping the face of a cylinder will result in a circle, etc.).
This game can be used in conjunction with a Solar System unit or at any point during the year to reinforce common core standard K.CC4. It would be best suited for 1 or 2 children at a time. I provided my students with a small bag of wooden stars from the craft store to go along with the Solar System theme but any counters would do. The children will also need dice. You may want to print the task card on cardstock and place it in a page protector to make it more durable. The first player rol
This hands-on activity gives students the opportunity to perform several measurement tasks based on a kindergarten common core standard (K.MD2) using manipulatives and common classroom objects provided by the teacher. The teacher will place the following objects in a gallon-sized plastic bag: a pencil, a crayon, a paperclip, an index card, a book, and an eraser. The task card gives the students directions to complete using the objects. The students then use the accompanying recording sheet t
This printable includes a Comparing Candy Work Mat and Candy Number Cards (to be cut apart). To give your students hands-on comparing practice, provide each student with a copy of a work mat (laminated or in a page protector). Choose a candy number card, then ask your students to count out pieces of candy (or counters if you prefer) to represent that number and place them in the first candy jar. Then ask a student to use a dry erase marker to write the number on the line below. Choose another ca
This worksheet can be used in conjunction with a hands-on activity where the teacher provides 3D objects from the real world and gives students the opportunity to identify them. This lesson would work great when introducing or reviewing common core standard K.G2. The teacher would gather real 3D objects beforehand such as: a cube-shaped kleenex box or wooden block, a cone-shaped party hat or funnel, a sphere-shaped globe or ball, and a cylinder-shaped clorox wipes container or paper towel tube
This hands-on activity is a great way to practice common core standard K.MD2. Each student is given a piece of yarn/string (approximately 4-6 inches long) and a copy of the handout. He/she will walk around the classroom to find two objects that are longer in length, shorter in length, and the same length as their yarn/string. Because students are traveling around the classroom in limited space it may be best to assign this activity to only a small group of children at a time. There are two c
Letter naming/sound fluency is a predictor of future reading success. These sheets are perfect for giving students the opportunity to practice this important skill with a teacher, tutor, peer partner, parent volunteer, paraprofessional or student teacher! They can be laminated or placed in a plastic sheet protector for durability. The student will start at the beginning of each row and name the letters as quickly as possible. For sound fluency, the student will say the sound each letter in the r

This fun cookie-themed printable provides materials needed to get your students up and moving to practice comparing numerals and quantities! It also gives them the opportunity to interact with each other verbally using terms like "greater than", "less than" and "equal to". It will be an instant hit and your students will beg to play the Comparing Cookies Game again and again!
This worksheet can be used in conjunction with a unit on Three-Dimensional Shapes. It gives students opportunities to analyze and compare the shapes using informal language to describe their similarities, differences, parts (e.g., number of sides, vertices/corners), and other attributes (e.g., having sides of equal length) as mentioned in common core standard K.G4.
As a part of our study of Japan and as a way to review the sight words we had covered, I attached sight word cards to pictures of sushi I printed, laminated and cut out. I placed the pieces of "sight word sushi" in a bin of uncooked rice and provided students with wooden chopsticks to create a sensory bin/sight word experience they loved! When they found a piece of sushi they read the sight word and wrote it on the recording sheet. When their sheet was full, they found a peer to read the sight w
This recording sheet can be used in conjunction with a study of dinosaurs, letter Dd or a hands-on alphabet review! Students can pretend they are paleontologists and "go on a dig" to find hidden letters in a tub filled with sand or rice. The uppercase and/or lowercase letters they discover can be written on these sheets so they are held accountable for their learning and the teacher gets a quick an easy informal assessment of letter writing! It's a win-win! Enjoy!

I created this sheet to use when I need to give students a letter/sound assessment. I print it on cardstock and laminate it or place it in a plastic sheet protector to make it more durable. When I need to formally or informally assess a student, I simply grab this sheet, call the student over and ask him/her to point to the letters on each row and name them aloud for me. After naming the uppercase and lowercase letters in the top and middle sections students are asked to point to each letter in
