This pack is "What is Subtraction," "Subtraction Counting Strategies" and "Subtraction Memorizing Strategies" all rolled into one.
It is a pack of 3 week-long units (20-30 minutes/day) covering subtraction basics and word problems along with many of the strategies that 1st grade students need to know - Number Line, Counting Back, Subtracting 1 and 0, Doubles, Subtracting 10 and Subtracting 9. Each lesson has partner work, individual work and a ticket out the door to ensure the student's unders

My teaching style changes all the time! I love to try new ideas or incorporate new strategies into my lessons!
Awards & shining teacher moments
I was asked to be part of a committee to adapt the Common Core Standards for the state of Arizona in 2010. This really helped me understand the standards and how they can be used in the classroom.
My own education history
I'm proud to say that I am a graduate of Indiana University. I also earned my Master's Degree in Reading, Writing and Literacy from a great program at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
