1.NBT.1 Introduction to Number Sense (Numbers 11-15)
Number Sense is a vital concept for 1st grade! This is 1 week worth of number sense lessons (20-30 min. per day) focusing on the numbers 11-15. It covers skip counting, greater than/less than, even/odd and an introduction to place value along with reading and writing the numbers. These lessons are part of a group of lessons covering all these topics in my Number Sense Introduction Pack. Awards & shining teacher moments
I was asked to be part of a committee to adapt the Common Core Standards for the state of Arizona in 2010. This really helped me understand the standards and how they can be used in the classroom.
My own education history
I'm proud to say that I am a graduate of Indiana University. I also earned my Master's Degree in Reading, Writing and Literacy from a great program at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
