Teaching genres to students is very important, and it is necessary to have a resource that has all of the genres and their characteristics. I never could find exactly what I was looking for, so I created my own, and I hope that it's exactly what you need. Experience

I am a Language Arts and Reading teacher of gifted students. I have taught every grade from 1st-6th, but this year I am currently teaching 5th and 6th graders.

Teaching style

I desire for my classroom to be a place where student have the opportunity to learn and experience literature and creative ideas. I guide them along the process, but ultimately I am preparing them to be independent learners. I believe student engagement is key and allowing students to take ownership of their classroom and their learning. We use a lot of technology and workstations in our classroom. My goal is to allow students a place to develop as learners and readers. I want to find refreshing ideas and new ways to teach them concepts so they can not only learn them, but apply them in their lives.
