This simple worksheet has spaces for students to define camouflage and mimicry in their own words as well as color butterflies to illustrate their understanding.
This worksheet was created to go with my Camouflage and Mimicry PowerPoint presentation
This is a unit plan that I created during my student teaching in a 2nd grade classroom. The unit plan was developed to help students look at matter and interactions between matter in a hands-on and interactive way.
This unit contains 10 separate lesson plans, 5 written formally with NYS standards referenced, the other 5 written informally. The 10th lesson is a unit test, which is included.
This unit also contains a 17-page "Science Log" that students use to record the results of their experi

Guide your students towards creating goals for themselves in the new year! This craftivity results in four sections of "resolutions" for students to fill out. These foldables are great for displaying on a bulletin board or for keeping in an interactive notebook to refer to throughout the new year!
The product download file contains two versions of the front cover, one that specifies ELA goals (2 areas I want to improve in ELA) and one that is school generic (2 areas I want to improve in school)
Understanding how sentences are put together can help students become better readers and writers. These 9 posters each have one part of speech, a short kid-friendly description of it, as well as examples.
The PDF file contains posters for the following parts of speech:
Nouns
Verbs
Pronouns
Adjectives
Adverbs
Prepositions

As blogs and wikis become increasingly more popular in classrooms, teachers are struggling to keep up with the changing times.
I put this guide to basic HTML and wiki codes together as a resource for teachers and students to use when interacting with blogs and wikis. This information is universal and can be used on all blogs and all wikis.
I recommend printing out a few copies and laminating them to keep next to your classroom computers! :)

This resource can be used as a poster or a handout for students to look back at or to insert into an interactive math notebook. The poem describes the steps for doing the standard subtraction algorithm with or without regrouping. The poem is catchy and easier remember and I find my students using independently with ease! Each stanza is accompanied by an example and one "You try to it" question.
Each page of this packet has a topic on the topic and spaces underneath to list ideas (e.g. Things I know a lot about).
Students can use these packets to reference when they are having trouble thinking of a topic to write about.
Includes black and white clipart that can be colored in by the student.
Poster:
This simple poster explains the Stop - Think - Paraphrase comprehension strategy using words and pictures. The images are very demonstrative and are great visual reminders of the steps of the strategy.

The bookmarks use just the images as quick reminders for students to use the strategy. Four bookmarks are on one page. I recommend laminating these to make them last awhile!

My reading students greatly enjoyed a phonics card game for digraphs that I got from another teacher called "Give a Dog a Bone," so I had to make a new version for our unit on blends! I made a blends version with cats called Give a Cat a Fish. This version focuses on end blends and the theme was picked out by my students - if you couldn't already tell!
This card game can be played with two players or more. Players take turns picking a card and reading the word on it.
