About the store
I have 31 years of teaching experience, 14 years in elementary 17 in middle school. After 6 years of teaching Algebra 1 GATE and pre-algebra, I took on a new position as a math intervention specialist helping struggling math students, preparing lessons for teachers, and team-teaching with classroom math teachers. 17 years later I returned to elementary school where I am currently a math professional development coach in grades K-5. I truly believe in the necessity of teaching the "why" of mathematics. My favorite moments are the "Oh, now I get it!" ones.

Notes + coloring activity containing two pages of scaffolded notes with hints on how students can remember each of the angle types. The third page contains 12 problems, 8 of which require the students to color different angle pairs as well as answer questions regarding angle measures. I created this document because I saw so many of my students not "seeing" complementary & supplementary angles within intersecting lines. This is a great visual for students. Answer key is included.

Teaching style

Hands on, self-discovery, inquiry-based, real life applications, making sure students understand the "Why" of mathematics. Without a conceptual understanding, is there really understanding? I want to build thinkers vs mimickers.
