This is a set of 5 half sheet recording sheets for kindergarten math activities and games. For the first activity you will put unifix cubes in a zip lock baggie, or a container. Each page has a word problem that asks students to decompose numbers 4 through 10 by drawing 3 different combinations of dots on lady bug wings, that make the numbers 4 through 10. It also asks students to write the number sentence (equation) that matches what they have drawn on the lady bug's wings. These Brown Bear, Brown Bear character 5 frames can be used in many ways. My students each get a 5 frame character with 10 unifix cubes of 2 colors, 5 of each. Then I ask them to show me different ways to make 5 on the 5 frame. For example, one student might use 3 red unifix cubes and 2 blues. Then they say to their partner, 3 and 2 makes 5.
