Math teachers in North Carolina of grades 5-8 are required to teach their students how to express their answers in open- or gridded responses boxes for their End-of-Grade tests. This activity helps students to not only practice their skills at dividing by one-digit numbers but to also practice how to enter answers in the gridded-response boxes. Can be used for any other state, too, but is geared toward North Carolina. Enjoy!

I have printed out a bookmark for every one of my students so they can refer to it in class or at home. It can be printed out on white cardstock and cut apart for student use. Only one side of the card prints at a time, but the card can be

Students will play the game in pairs. Each pair will receive five index cards on which they will write five random digits from 1 to 9.
