This is a 4-part task that puts students into a real-life scenario of weeding and planting a garden. This tasks involves operations with fractions, whole numbers, and time conversions. Great practice for SBAC and building math stamina!

This task asks students to solve some constructed response questions involving division of unit fractions and whole numbers. Students will also multiply decimals and be asked to write a letter than explains mathematically why one sugar substitute is a better deal than another. This task mimics the look of the Smarter Balanced Performance Task for 5th grade and asks students to answer DOK 1, 2, and 3 level questions. Great to prepare our students for the SBAC.
