There are guided examples and practice problems for students to complete independently while you circulate the room to check for understanding. I have also included sound buttons to enhance this lesson. My students love when I put on sound or music during power point presentations. During practice I leave the music on low while th

This power point explores the concept of how we add fractions with unlike denominators. The power point asks students to compare blood types with different denominators. Students love talking about the different blood types-nice connection to science class. When asked how we can compare these results accurately students should come up with finding a common denominator. Then with the class you can change each fraction to an equivalent reviewing the process. Word problems, a section of practice,
