Each card involves students either identifying a digit in a place value, naming place value, determining the value of a digit, and heavy emphasis has been placed on converting numbers into standard, expanded, or word form. Randomly place cards around classroom and allow student to walk around answering each question. At the end students can check their answers with the provided answer key. The issue arises when they do not know how many digits are needed for each place value. I taught 6th and 8th grade math as a middle school inclusion and pull-out teacher. I am currently in my second year as a 4th grade math teacher. I am certified in Early Childhood Education, Middle Grades Math, Special Education (P-12), Special Education Math, Science, Social Studies, and ELA/Reading (P-8). I also have a K-5 Math Endorsement.
