The Game of Life, a Math Project about Money
This project walks students through eight stages.
` Stage 1: Education
You will choose an education you hope will lead to an occupation you desire. Student loans and grants are introduced and calculated.
` Stage 2: Occupation
You will choose an (available) occupation and salary. You will calculate all the deductions from your check. State and federal taxes, social secu
Have students practice plotting points on a coordinate plane. When they connect the points in order, a picture of a much-beloved fictional character or historical figure appears. The pictures range from including 56-87 points in 4-6 shapes. They are each available individually here on TPT as well: ~ Picture Graphing (Alien)~ Picture Graphing (Snowman)~ Picture Graphing (Dinosaur)~ Picture Graphing (Robot)~ Picture Graphing (Shakespeare)~ Picture Graphing (Lincoln)If you like this document,
Exciting, real world applications of mathematical concepts are always fun and engaging in the classroom.
This Deal or No Deal game comes with a graphic organizer (PDF; see preview) to urge students to calculate probability and understand the corresponding value of bank offers.
The file is entirely automated. There is a text banner that tells the user what to do next in the game. When given new Bank Offers, students calculate probabilities and decide if the deal is worth taking.

Introduce students to probability. These activities and worksheets cover theoretical vs experimental probability and dependent vs independent probability.
Each two-sided worksheet includes concept development (instruction and/or guided practice), independent practice, and a few assessment questions for students to prove understanding.
The last sheet in the packet is "CASINO MATH."
Materials required:
- two decks of cards
- four dice

A desktop app for creating coordinate-plane worksheets. Upload a reference image, trace key points and shapes over it, then export a student worksheet and an answer key. Students plot the ordered pairs and reveal the picture. The worksheets created by this app givens students fun, engaging practice in plotting points on a coordinate plane. Make pictures that are meaningful to your students, like your school's mascot or a character from a book your students read. The app makes differentiation eas

Comparing Cost Using Unit Rate This worksheet teaches students how to compare two prices by finding the unit rate of each. After walking through an example, students solve 14 similar problems. Once completed, a final puzzle is offered. Take the first letter of the correct answers' company names to spell the answer the question: Why Learn About Unit Rate?
This SMART Notebook file includes 40 daily warm-ups, do nows, or bell ringers for High School math students. They range in difficulty and math skill. See the preview for example problems.

Pairs of students face off in this classic game of deduction, but instead of guessing faces, they must guess shapes!
The game gives students practice in identifying properties of various polygons, including:
- Regular Polygons
- Types of Quadrilaterals
- Right Angles
- Sets of Parallel Sides
- and more!
Included in this PDF file are:
- an information sheet for students to review the properties of the shapes included in the game (or to use as a cheat sheet during the game).
- a set of cards fro

Students in groups of 3 or 4 each draw four cards and place them on their Card Mat. After multiplying the created fractions on a scratch piece of paper, they write their answers in the appropriate space. If their answer is correct, they score points. The game was surprisingly engaging and competitive even for my reluctant learners. Enjoy!
