In this lesson, the digestive system is introduced when students come up with actions to represent each organ of the digestive system and its job. The actions are then performed one at a time while the significance of each organ is recited. As students learn each new organ, the chant becomes longer. This activity contains 4 puzzles of different shapes to create a little fun in a like terms lesson. I have had students complete this in stations, by themselves, and in groups. They have worked in all scenarios. There is some teacher prep-work, but after completed one time, they can be used year after year. In this quarterly project, students are instructed to find a science article from a newspaper or magazine and write a summary about it to create a visual poster or display. I do not allow my students to use an article found online because many students have a difficult time finding a reliable source. Instead, I allow them to photocopy articles from magazines found at the library. Students are exposed to new branches of science and keep up to date with what is going on in the science field. Also

Use as a station activity or as an assignment. Equations are given in Standard Form. Cut the first page into thirds and give each student a strip with the 5 equations.
