I am a new mom and am taking a little time away from classroom teaching to get used to my new role. It is SO strange to be taking a step back from a 12-year career and I definitely have mixed feelings about it. For my entire 12 years, I taught French 1-4 in a large and diverse public high school. During that time, I successfully in grew the program by 3 full sections of students. I was also the leader of a long-standing DIY exchange program with a high school in Grenoble, France, and have led over 200 high school students on educational trips in France. Prior to getting my teaching certification, I lived in Chartres, France, for one year as an Assistante de Langue Étrangère and later participated in a three-week stage at Université de Montréal with French teachers from all over the world. I have also served as a member of the Executive Board of the AATF Chicago/Northern Illinois chapter.
