I presented this PPT to my students the first week of school to introduce growth mindset. Within the presentation are links to ClassDojo's Mind Growthset videos, and a video on "Famous Failures" found on youtube. I would stop before the video would reveal who the 'famous failure' was just to make it more interactive for my students.
***Warning: Please preview the Famous Failure video just to make sure it is appropriate for your age group, there is a mention of a celebrity who struggled with dr
I absolutely LOVED using this in my classroom after our benchmark! I had my students reflect on their learning and their test and I believe it truly made a difference for them. This file is in a PPT file so it is editable to fit your needs/subject. I used it for my 5th graders and can definitely see older students using it as well (a variation/modified version can be used for younger grades; page one). I had my students reflect in a four step process:

This file includes a PDF and PPT (editable) version of the handout that I have my students complete if they did not pass a test. There are enough rows to correct 13 questions. You can edit this on the PPT file. I also included a "Texas TEK" space, which you may change for your state's standards. This is a rubric and project description that I gave my students after we had studied food webs. Students were given the choice to complete the project on manila paper or using the Popplet App on an iPad.
For the project students are required to:
- select an ecosystem
-Find at least 10 organisms
-Create the food web with arrows showing flow of energy
-List FOOD CHAINS found within the food web.
A short presentation on density for students. This goes over what density means, then explains RELATIVE density. There is also a group activity for students to do at the end. Students will each choose their own item to test, then make a table in their journal to record their observations.
This is a PPT so it is completely editable to fit your needs.
Download and install the following fonts to have the presentation look like the one in the preview:
