This presentation was used as a quick review on conductors and insulators before completing a lab testing electrical conductors. (In TX, conductors and insulators is more of a focus in 4th grade but reviewed again in 5th grade to classify based on physical properties). This also includes directions to complete a lab in which students build simple circuits then test their objects for electrical conductivity. It is in powerpoint so it is completely editable. This is a description and rubric of a project I had my students complete after we were done with our unit on forms of energy (mechanical, electrical, light, thermal, sound). Students get to choose one of the the forms of energy and make an anchor chart according to the project description/rubric. They worked in groups and made the anchor charts on regular chart paper, but you can use manila paper if needed. These were great to hang around the room! Students got very creative. :)

I presented this PPT to my students the first week of school to introduce growth mindset. I had students complete this project after we studied weather and weather maps/symbols. Students are given different cities that they must find/place on the map. (Maps are not included in this download--but you can find plenty of blank US maps online!) Students are also given descriptions of the weather going on in those cities, but they have to practice using the correct weather map symbols. You can have GT/GATE students come up with their own weather. :)

This is a rubric and project description that I gave my students after we had studied food webs. Students were given the choice to complete the project on manila paper or using the Popplet App on an iPad. For the project students are required to: - select an ecosystem -Find at least 10 organisms -Create the food web with arrows showing flow of energy -List FOOD CHAINS found within the food web.

You can use this document to list your students and the accommodations that they receive. I use it as a "quick reference" instead of looking through students' IEPs and 504 plans. It's in a spreadsheet so you can edit it with your students and print it. You can check off the accommodations that your students have or type in. I included the most common accommodations that I've found in student IEPs/504 plans, but you can easily edit to input any other accommodations you find necessary.

This handout can be used as students rotate through quick stations where they get to use and try different tools. When my students were practicing writing business letters I compiled the names and addresses of popular business/companies that my students could write actual letters to. This was a great activity and my kids were excited to see if the companies would write back to them. Some of them received letters back and even got some awesome swag (mostly stickers haha).
