During my Math Workshop students visit two rotations per day that are designed around the Math CCSS for my grade level. My “Fact Fluency” station is from the Operations & Algebraic Thinking Domain. Activities and games for this station are fairly simple, repetitive, and fun, of course! My goal is for students to be able to work on their Fact Fluency in pairs or on their own without needing to interrupt my small group instruction for directions on the activity.

Play Ten Frame Top-It and reinforce your students' Number Sense with these cards. Each card has three ten frames to be consistent and allow students to see the differences between the numbers. This product contains numbers 0 through 30 with appropriately filled-in Ten Frames and can be printed off or copied as many times as desired to create your Deck of Ten Frame Playing Cards. I have my students play Ten Frame Top-It in pairs with each deck containing two copies of each card. We a

This packet was just created this past weekend after seeing my students' scores on the STAR Math test. One of their areas where they could improve was in their Place Value so I went to work starting with identifying digits in the Hundreds, Tens, and Ones Place of a 3-Digit Number. Success! They loved it and my each of my six math groups were able to complete this with very brief instructions at the beginning of the week. Each group took roughly 12-15 minutes which is perfect during our rotat

Fact Fluency is so important for students in their foundational math skills. We use these at our Fact Fluency (based on the OA CCSS) rotation in our Math Workshop. Students take a fact family card (we have copied on construction paper and laminated) and are to generate their four number models (two addition and two subtraction) for that family of numbers. We have students work with worksheets inside of plastic sleeves. I managed to find a bunch at Target in their $1 bin right before the star

Students practice their Fact Fluency and familiarity with Doubles by playing this Double Bump Game. This works on addends up to 6. You may use a plastic spinner placed on top of the spinner on the second page or instruct students to use a pencil and paper clip as a spinner. This game has been played in pairs and group of three in my classroom.

We concentrate on place value throughout the school year, but I have found this activity to be a favorite of my students. We began with matching the Ten Frames to the Base-10 Blocks and when I felt they were ready for a change I swapped out for other Number Names. This was fun for my students and gave me the opportunity to mix my Guided Math Groups around. Later in the year we used the Word Name Cards to focus on correct spelling of our Number Words. In my Guided Math Rotations I have this a

"Differentiated Cubes" from Really Good Stuff work perfectly with this activity. This pack includes 5 sets of Foam Die Inserts for students to practice vocabulary after it has been introduced. Each set has 4 number cards, a “Free Choice” and a “Return” card to prolong the activity. Each set also comes with the matching 4 Sum Cards. I copy these cards five or six times and cut apart. For play: slide the definition cards into the Foam Die Sleeves, students lay the Sum Cards (face-up) in an

I use these cards and the following “PlaceMat” to practice place value with my students at the teacher table during Guided Math. They also use these with Base-10 Blocks at their rotation that works on the strand of Understanding Base-10 of the Math CCSS. I find it is easier for my students if I copy the different places in three colors so when working without me, they know they need three different colored number cards to build a three-digit number from their Blocks. Of course, pleas

Making Guided Math a little bit easier! That's what I was thinking of when I created this product. After playing around with Guided Math in my own classroom I have polished up one of my ideas for others to try. In our Math Workshop the students participate in Standards-Based centers or rotations three days a week. In an effort to better communicate with my students the WHY of what they are doing I have organized my Math Workshop into my FAME structure. F - Fact Fluency (CCSS - Operations and A
