During my Math Workshop students visit two rotations per day that are designed around the Math CCSS for my grade level. My “Fact Fluency” station is from the Operations & Algebraic Thinking Domain. Activities and games for this station are fairly simple, repetitive, and fun, of course! My goal is for students to be able to work on their Fact Fluency in pairs or on their own without needing to interrupt my small group instruction for directions on the activity.

Allow your students hands-on practice of their multiplication facts by building these arrays of cookies for their "monster" to eat! Kids love this activity which shows repeated addition is multiplication. This packet includes Multiples 1-10. The student direction cards include direction written in two formats (3-by-3 or 3x3). A sheet of cookies is included for you to copy or students may use markers you already have in the classroom. The first week they perform this activity in their guided

Make it easier on yourself and your Guest Teacher on a last-minute sick day. Use this product to create a resource for your grade-level team. This product was created with the struggling district in mind. The teacher shortage is especially hard in regards to our Guest Teachers. We are in a profession that requires more work for a sick day and I hope this product will help my fellow teachers with that. In my last district we discussed creating a system where a full day’s work of lesson

These large and colorful Flash Cards were created with my ELL students in mind. Our school is quite diverse and I have been privileged to work with students from various cultures and backgrounds. This provides challenges as well as rewards. My biggest challenge with these students has been their inability to develop a personal relationship to their numbers. They just don’t understand what the word or numeral “five” means. Their parents, bless their hearts, just don’t know how to talk

This packet was just created this past weekend after seeing my students' scores on the STAR Math test. One of their areas where they could improve was in their Place Value so I went to work starting with identifying digits in the Hundreds, Tens, and Ones Place of a 3-Digit Number. Success! They loved it and my each of my six math groups were able to complete this with very brief instructions at the beginning of the week. Each group took roughly 12-15 minutes which is perfect during our rotat

Fact Fluency is so important for students in their foundational math skills. We use these at our Fact Fluency (based on the OA CCSS) rotation in our Math Workshop. Students take a fact family card (we have copied on construction paper and laminated) and are to generate their four number models (two addition and two subtraction) for that family of numbers. We have students work with worksheets inside of plastic sleeves. I managed to find a bunch at Target in their $1 bin right before the star

I use Six Super Hero names for my Guided Math Groups so the High, Middle, and Lowest ability groups are identified with those names. Each card is about 8" by 5" and can be used in order or mixed up. Mondays are "Math Monday" in my classroom and we practice gathering data within our class by answering a question and making a tally. After we have collected all our data we construct a bar graph. I created this because our Math Curriculum does not allow for much practice with creating and interpreting graphs so we spend up to 15 minutes each Monday morning as "Graphing Guys and Gals". The arrows on the first page of each question are facing the right because the graphs are to be copied doubl

We concentrate on place value throughout the school year, but I have found this activity to be a favorite of my students. We began with matching the Ten Frames to the Base-10 Blocks and when I felt they were ready for a change I swapped out for other Number Names. This was fun for my students and gave me the opportunity to mix my Guided Math Groups around. Later in the year we used the Word Name Cards to focus on correct spelling of our Number Words. In my Guided Math Rotations I have this a

56 different dominoes are included in this set! Dominoes are a favorite in my classroom, especially our larger set of dominoes...but I created this set of dominoes for incorporation during the first six weeks of school (but of course you are not limited to that period of time). I just had a very large of my classroom last year come from a wide variety of backgrounds and sometimes we, as adults, assume all students know the names for our school supplies. This, unfortunately, is not always the
